Waiting for Baby Wesley

I’m going to be an aunt — AGAIN! Don’t get my wrong, being a mom is amazing. My kids are the my reason for everything I do. But, about 18 months ago I became an aunt and there’s just something extra special about that little nugget. Now I’m about to be an aunt again! My youngest sister, Julia, is due with her first baby in about a month and I am beside myself with excitement.

Brighten and Grady are the sweetest cousins to my niece, Amelia, but I think Grady is probably the most excited to meet Baby Wesley because he won’t be the only boy cousin anymore! I am thrilled for my sister and brother-in-law, Ian. Julia and Ian are going to be amazing parents to little Wesley, and I just cannot express how ready I am to be his Aunt Jessica!

In February, we traveled to Roswell, GA for Julia’s baby shower. While we were there, Julia, Ian, and I snuck away for a little bit to grab some maternity photos.

Here’s what I’ve learned about maternity photos: they’re really important! Usually, if we’re going to skip a photos session, it’s this one. We put all of our photo budget into our newborn photos and first year photos. Don’t get me wrong, those are SUPER important too, but maternity photos are often the last photos of you and your partner for a long time without kiddos! Personally, I didn’t get maternity photos when I was pregnant with Grady, and I honestly regret it so much. I only can find a few photos of myself from that season of life, and I really underestimated how much my kids would want to know about our life before them.

At Bright & Gray Creative, we know that welcoming a baby into your home, whether it’s through pregnancy, adoption, foster care, step parenthood, etc., is a big transition (and often expensive, too). That’s why we offer a parenthood package where we can break a large session into two separate sessions for one price. We allow you to do a 30-minute* BEFORE session (pregnancy announcement, maternity, adoption/foster announcement, etc.) and a 60-minute* AFTER session (newborn, welcoming kiddos home, new family, etc.). Packaging these together is budget friendly for you, and allows us to build more of a relationship with your family to make that second session, and any future family sessions, run really smoothly.

*we can also split sessions into two 45-minute sessions depending on your family
